Five Acres Animal Shelter

Five Acres Animal Shelter is the only no-kill animal shelter in St. Charles County. Volunteers will help clean kennels, do enrichment activities with the dogs, property clean up, laundry and dishes, and unfold newspapers for puppy kennels.

Ages: 13 and up (Children ages 13-15 must have a parent/guardian with them at all times)

Materials Needed: Please wear pants and closed-toe shoes.


STL Crisis Nursery – St. Charles

 315 First Capitol Drive, St. Charles, MO 63301

Crisis Nursery is committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect and provides emergency intervention, respite care, and support to families in crisis through short-term care for young children.  Volunteers will assist staff by engaging children in activities (playtime, meals, rocking babies), and sorting/putting away donations.

Age: 14 and up (Ages 14-15 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian)


Project "Linus"

Off-Site (TBD)

Project Linus distributes handmade blankets to children in local hospitals.  Make a blanket to donate and drop it off at Element during the first weekend services of the month. You can even make a "no sew fleece blanket." A link for examples on types of blankets you can make will be in your confirmation email.

Upkeep of the Veterans Memorial Park in O'Fallon and entails cleaning the boots, monoliths, and trash clean-up.

Oasis International

Refugee Family's House (St. Louis)

Provide a baby shower for an expecting refugee family. This would entail taking gifts and a cake to the refugee family’s house. (No decorations necessary). Gifts will be provided. This would be a great serving opportunity for a group of 6 women (children able to go as well). Baby shower will take place from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.

OASIS Thrift Store

Serve in the thrift store that provides clothing and household items for a low price. All revenue generated by the thrift store is used to purchase food and hygiene items for the OASIS Food Pantry. They also BBQ hotdogs for people waiting in the food pantry line.

Sharing Shed

923 E. Terra Ln, O'Fallon, MO, 63366

Sharing Shed provides free, household furniture and items to those unable to provide for themselves. On Saturdays, they serve up to four clients. Element Volunteers will be trained in three different areas: personal shopper, processors, and warehouse help.

Ages: If younger than 10, needs to be accompanied by an adult.

Kids Against Hunger is hosting their 6th Annual Make a Difference Day. This food packing event is an opportunity for families of all backgrounds to come together for a fun, energy filled time of packing food for the poor in Haiti. Join us as we help with KAH’s goal of packing 50,000 meals at .30 cents per meals.
